Job summary

The Red Snapper Recruitment Limited is seeking a First Aid Trainer to plan, prepare and deliver high-quality first aid training to staff based in Birmingham. The role is office-based with a 12-month contract and a pay rate of £19.38 per hour, reporting to the Training / Learning & Development Manager.

You will deliver both theoretical and practical training, assess learner competence, and maintain appropriate training records.

Qualifications

• Recognised and current first aid qualification appropriate to the level of training.
• Recognised training, teaching or instructional qualification, or demonstrable experience of delivering training.
• Demonstrable experience of delivering first aid training to individuals and/or groups.
• Strong practical knowledge of first aid principles, procedures and emergency response.
• Knowledge of current first aid guidance, standards and best practice.
• Experience of assessing learners and providing constructive feedback.
• Experience of adapting training delivery to meet different learning styles and individual needs.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements within a training environment.
• Commitment to maintaining professional knowledge and completing relevant CPD.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging first aid training sessions to individuals and groups.
• Deliver both classroom-based and practical first aid training.
• Manage learners and create a positive learning environment.
• Prepare and maintain training materials, presentations, exercises and resources.
• Ensure training content stays current with first aid guidance and legislation.
• Demonstrate first aid techniques and provide learner practice opportunities.
• Assess learner knowledge and practical competence against outcomes.
• Provide constructive feedback and additional support.
• Maintain training attendance and assessment records.
• Identify learner needs and adapt delivery accordingly.
• Promote health, safety, safeguarding and professional conduct.
• Keep training equipment safe and suitable for delivery.
• Stay updated with changes to guidance and best practice.
