Job summary

E-ACT Parkwood Academy in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to supervise lessons during short-term staff absences, ensuring learning continuity and student focus. You will deliver prepared materials, support across subjects and help maintain a positive classroom environment.

The role requires strong classroom management, excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to inclusion and student success. A supportive academy community offers development and opportunities.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Cover Supervision or HLTA qualification with 5 GCSEs incl English/Maths Grade 4/C+.
• Experience working with young people in education, childcare, coaching or mentoring.
• Understanding of classroom management and promoting positive student behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during short-term absence, keeping students focused and on task.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure continuity across subjects.
• Manage student behaviour per academy policies; promote positive environment.
• Safeguard welfare and wellbeing; report concerns per procedures.
• Collaborate with teaching and support staff; provide feedback on engagement and outcomes.
