Job summary

Jewish Care’s Dennis Centre is seeking a Male Activities Programme Assistant to create welcoming, engaging and meaningful experiences for older people in our community.

The role is 30 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 8.30am to 4pm, based at the Dennis Centre. You’ll support the Senior Programme Assistant and Centre Manager to plan and deliver a varied programme, help run social groups, exercise sessions, games and wellbeing activities, and supervise volunteers.

Qualifications

• Experience in engaging with older people, including those living with dementia or disabilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust and rapport with members and families.
• Customer-focused approach and commitment to quality service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging activities, events and programmes for older people.
• Support programme planning and delivery with Senior Programme Assistant and Centre Manager.
• Foster a warm, welcoming environment and encourage participation across abilities.
• Support volunteers and maximise their involvement in activities and events.
• Maintain accurate records and assist with safety, administration and data entry.
