Job summary

Welford Healthcare’s Raleigh Mead Nursing Home in South Molton, EX36 4BT, is seeking an Activities Coordinator to join our care team. You will plan and deliver activities and events designed to promote social interaction and independence for residents.

You will assess each resident’s needs, design group and one-to-one activities, and liaise with staff to support social care. The role includes co-ordinating celebrations, transport to external activities, and documenting resident engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating activities in care/settings preferred.
• Excellent communication with residents and staff.
• Ability to plan engaging activities within budget.

Responsibilities

• Thoughtfully devise and arrange activities and entertainment within budget.
• Coordinate birthdays and special celebrations for residents.
• Assess and meet individual residents’ needs through group activities.
• Be inclusive, forward thinking, and deliver activities that meet residents’ preferences.
• Liaise with staff about resident care and social needs.
• Transport residents to external activities.
• Plan and provide exercise/movement to music sessions.
• Produce a monthly resident newsletter using MS Word/Outlook.
• Review and update resident records to track enjoyment and preferences.
