Job summary

Radbrook Care Home in Shrewsbury is seeking an Activities Coordinator to design and lead a programme of activities that promote social interaction and independence for residents. You will assess individual needs and design group and 1:1 activities, coordinate birthday and special celebrations, and work with staff to enhance residents’ quality of life while managing the budget.

The role is part-time (26.25 hours per week) with alternate weekends, offering induction, training, and benefits

Responsibilities

• Thoughtfully devise/arrange appropriate activities and entertainment within set budget.
• Coordinate birthday and special celebrations for all residents.
• Assess and meet individual residents’ needs through leading group activities within and outside the home.
• Be inclusive, forward thinking, creative and delivering activities and occupations that meet and caters for residents’ preferences.
• Liaise with staff/managers on matters regarding resident care and social needs.
• Transport residents to external activities, driving the company minibus.
• Plan and provide exercise/movement to music sessions in the home.
• Produce a monthly resident newsletter, using MS Word and Outlook.
• Review and keep up to date the relevant resident records, assessing resident enjoyment and preferences and the effectiveness of activity.
• Maintain and update communications within the home which promote and celebrate social activity.

We are looking for an Activities Coordinator to join our Nursing Home team

The Activities Coordinator is responsible for delivering a programme of thoughtfully designed activities and events that promote social interaction and independence for our residents.

Through careful assessment of each resident’s individual needs and abilities the Activities Coordinator will design and lead group and one-to-one activities which enhance quality of life for each resident.
