Royal Mencap Society (Mencap) is recruiting an Engagement and Support Officer to join the Employ Me team, delivering supported employment programmes across Staffordshire Moorlands and Newcastle-under-Lyme. The role is part-time (22.5 hours per week) for 2 years, with responsibilities to engage local providers and employers and generate referrals.

We have an opportunity for an Engagement and Support Officer to join our Employ Me team to support delivery of the supported employment programmes across Staffordshire Moorlands and Newcastle-under Lyme.
Mencap's Employ Me team provide supported employment programmes for people with a learning disability, learning difficulty and autism. The Employ Me team work with partners to develop innovative and inclusive programmes that will support people to develop skills, knowledge and experience that leads to paid employment opportunities.
This role is part time (22.5 hours per week) for 2 years.
Connect to Work is an element of the Governments ‘Get Britain Working’ Strategy and aims to increase workforce participation by helping people into sustained employment.
The Connect to Work programme delivers the five stages of the Supported Employment model:
The successful person will be required to engage local providers and employers generating referrals for the programme and employers providing work opportunities.
We are looking for an individual who can work on their own initiative, have good communication and organisational skills and be approachable across all levels to build partnerships with referral partners, local providers and employers.

£26,228 per annum, pro-rata + Excellent Benefits
