An international animal welfare charity is seeking an Engagement Officer to enhance global stakeholder relationships and coordinate engagement opportunities. The ideal candidate will excel in communication, have experience in organizing online events, and possess strong analytical skills. This full-time role allows flexible remote working within the UK, requiring occasional travel to team meetings. A commitment to animal welfare is essential.
The Donkey Sanctuary is an international animal welfare organisation, offering care and protection to donkeys worldwide. Our vision is a world where every donkey has a good quality of life, and our mission is to improve the lives of donkeys every day. We will achieve this by transforming the lives of donkeys in need worldwide by fostering greater understanding, collaboration and support, and by promoting lasting, mutually life-enhancing relationships.
We have an excellent opportunity for an Engagement Officer to join our team. This role is crucial to the global influencing work within the Public Affairs, Advocacy and Campaigns department; the Engagement Officer is responsible for identifying and maintaining meaningful relationships with global stakeholders, including governmental, non‑governmental and educational institutions. We are tackling the greatest threats working donkeys face locally and around the world, from the donkey skin trade to challenges working animals face in disasters. By coordinating engagement around sustainable development, wildlife crime, One Health and One Welfare agendas, the Engagement Officer will enable the cohesion within the member groups that The Donkey Sanctuary are currently part of and inspire new ways of working. This includes the International Coalition of Working Equids (ICWE) and developing and building new coalition opportunities around working animals.
