About the Programme
New Directions – East Hampshire is a 12-week voluntary pre-employment support programme designed to help people in East Hampshire on their journey back into work.

Our goal? To help people move into meaningful paid or voluntary employment through tailored, specialist Supported Employment.

Your Role
As Engagement Consultant, you’ll be the friendly face of the programme—building and growing relationships across the region to promote New Directions and open up referral pathways.

You'll connect with local partners like Youth Fed, Salvation Army, Disability Information Bureau, housing providers (e.g., Plus Dane, Great Places), and community organisations like food banks and adult social care teams. Your work helps ensure participants have a seamless, supportive journey into the programme via trusted ‘warm introductions’.

Your Responsibilities

  • Rolling out our engagement strategy across East Hampshire, building strong referral pipelines
  • Achieving a target of customer starts on programme
  • Working with internal teams and external partners to drive programme performance
  • Delivering presentations, workshops, and engagement events - virtually and in-person
  • Collaborating with local stakeholders (Local Authorities, GPs, Chambers of Commerce, etc.)
  • Coordinating and attending engagement meetings to ensure wraparound support
  • Supporting operations by targeting outreach where it’s needed most
  • Assessing customers suitability for the programme

Your Skills & Experience
Are you outgoing, confident, and self-motivated? Someone who thrives in a target-driven environment, builds relationships with ease, and brings positive energy to every interaction?

  • Passion for our values: Kindness, Respect, Integrity, Innovation
  • Experience engaging participants and building trust
  • Full driving licence & access to a car
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills to sign up customers to the programme
  • Confident presenter and relationship builder
  • Results-focused with a customer-first mindset
  • Resilient, adaptable, and great at managing your time
  • Background working with referral partners and community networks
  • Knowledge of Supported Employment (SE) or IPS models
  • Familiarity with the employability sector

As well as receiving dedicated health and wellbeing support, including access to our 24/7 employee assistance programme for you and your family, we’ll provide you with very clear stages of accredited development and learning. Not only that, we offer a wide range of benefits including:

  • Minimum 33 days’ holiday entitlement and a pension contribution up to 5%
  • Monthly benefits scheme worth up to an additional £500
  • Free life assurance cover, totalling four times your annual salary
  • And much more
