Job summary

Weston College in Weston-super-Mare is seeking an Engagement and Transitions Officer to support NEET learners in re-engaging with education, training, and employment pathways. The post is full-time (37 hours per week) and will involve building partnerships with DWP, councils, and community organisations to create referral pathways.

You will manage outreach, coordinate with multi-agency partners, and guide individuals from initial enquiry to enrolment, contributing to safeguarding and inclusion

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with disengaged or NEET young people.
• Experience working with external partners or community organisations.
• Understanding barriers to participation and strategies to support re-engagement.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with external partners including DWP, local councils, youth services, and community organisations.
• Proactively engaging NEET young people through targeted outreach approaches, including community-based activity, events and partnership-led initiatives.
• Representing the College at multi-agency meetings and local forums to promote provision and strengthen referral pathways.
• Generating and managing a pipeline of referrals into NEET provision, supporting individuals from initial enquiry through to enrolment.

Job description

The college is seeking to appoint an Engagement and Transitions Officer to play a pivotal role in supporting young people who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) to successfully re-engage with education, training, and employment pathways.

This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week.

Interviews for this role will take place on-site, at one of our college campuses in Weston-super-Mare.

Day to day duties
