Job summary

Standard 8 is recruiting an Enforcement Paralegal to join an established Enforcement team in Liverpool. The role involves practical litigation support, speaking with clients and other parties, drafting correspondence and keeping matters moving.

You’ll work alongside fee earners, with opportunities to take on more drafting responsibility and build experience in a busy legal setting. Training and development are provided, with annual remuneration reviews.

Qualifications

• Support fee earners with day-to-day enforcement matters, including speaking with clients and third parties by telephone, drafting correspondence and assisting with the preparation of legal documents.
• As you develop, you’ll be given more responsibility for drafting documents yourself.
• Help manage incoming correspondence and email folders, respond to clients and other parties where appropriate and ensure tasks are tracked.
• Organise workload and communicate properly in a busy environment.

Enforcement Paralegal

Liverpool Permanent Full-time

Standard 8 is recruiting a Paralegal to join an established Enforcement team in Liverpool.

This is a practical litigation support role where you'll work alongside fee earners dealing with live enforcement matters. You won't spend your day watching from the sidelines. You'll be speaking with clients and other parties, preparing correspondence, helping with legal documents and keeping matters moving.

The team can consider candidates at different stages of their legal career, so previous paralegal experience isn't essential. What matters is that you're organised, comfortable dealing with people and capable of working accurately when there are deadlines to meet.

What you'll be doing

• You’ll support fee earners with the day-to-day running of enforcement matters, including speaking with clients and third parties by telephone, drafting correspondence and assisting with the preparation of legal documents.
• As you develop, you’ll be given more responsibility for drafting documents yourself.
• You’ll also help manage incoming correspondence and email folders, respond to clients and other parties where appropriate and make sure tasks don’t disappear because somebody assumed somebody else was dealing with them.
• It’s a busy legal environment, so being able to organise your workload and communicate properly matters.

What we're looking for

• Some previous experience in a legal environment would be useful, but it isn’t essential. The same applies to formal legal qualifications.
• You’ll need strong written and verbal communication skills, a professional telephone manner and the confidence to deal with clients and other parties.
• You should be comfortable using Microsoft Office and generally competent with systems and technology. Previous experience of Proclaim or another case management system would be an advantage rather than a requirement.
• There is genuine scope to develop within the team for somebody who proves they can handle the work.
