Job summary

Service Care is seeking an Energy Officer to manage multiple utility contracts across a large property portfolio in a hybrid Lancaster setting. The role focuses on contract performance, cost control and energy efficiency improvements within a public sector context.

You will review contracts, consolidate accounts and drive data-driven reporting while coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers. Relevant energy management experience is essential, with leadership exposure advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in energy management across a large property portfolio.
• Experience managing utility contracts and external suppliers.
• Strong Excel, data analysis and reporting skills.
• Previous staff management experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage electricity, gas and water contracts, including supplier relationships, procurement and contract performance.
• Review existing energy contracts and utility accounts, identifying discrepancies, billing issues and opportunities to achieve cost savings.
• Audit and consolidate utility accounts, ensuring accurate records and appropriate corporate contract arrangements.
• Monitor utility consumption, expenditure, invoicing and credit claims, ensuring accurate billing and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce utility expenditure across the property portfolio.
• Review and improve existing billing processes, account management systems and reporting procedures.
• Work with internal departments, external suppliers and stakeholders to ensure effective utility management.
• Support energy and water efficiency projects, including identifying potential external funding opportunities.
• Provide support and guidance to an Energy Support Officer.
