Job summary

RWE Supply & Trading GmbH in Swindon invites you to an energy trading Operations Placement Programme. This year-long placement offers exposure to back office, new business, risk surveillance, and trading risk, with a chance to learn alongside industry experts at RWEST.

You will work on validating trade processes, building models, and supporting risk analysis while developing commercial and analytical skills in a leading European trading house.

Qualifications

• Penultimate year student in analytical, numerical or business-focused subject (Maths, Physics, Engineering, CS, Economics).
• Strong communication skills in English and written English.
• Willingness to learn, collaborate and adapt to a fast-paced trading environment.
• Interest in energy markets and commercial growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Assist back office with trade confirmations and settlements.
• Support post-trade activities including reconciliations and regulatory reporting.
• Develop and test algorithms and models for gas and power markets.
• Collaborate with desks across RWEST to enhance processes using AI and automation.
• Contribute to risk analyses and provide insights to senior stakeholders.
