Job summary

Octopus Energy Group in Coventry is seeking a passionate social worker to support customers and colleagues. The role is full-time, based in the Coventry office with travel as needed, working 37.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

You will assess needs, coordinate support, and refer to local authorities where appropriate, while supporting energy specialists in delivering outcomes for customers. Salary ranges £40,000–£50,000 with a strong culture and perks hub.

Qualifications

• Social Work Degree and current registration with Social Work England.
• Minimum of 5 years post qualifying Social Work experience; ASYE required.
• Practice Educator qualification is highly desirable.
• Experience in adult social care; mental health experience preferred.
• Ability to use initiative on sensitive cases and build rapport with colleagues.
• Driver with access to a car; occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Work with a range of customers with various needs; conduct assessments and support plans.
• Refer to local authorities when appropriate; identify safeguarding concerns.
• Assess needs, consider affordability, and recommend support actions.
• Signpost to sources of help and appropriate support packages.
• Follow up on cases to ensure resolution.
• Collaborate with other agencies and keep updated with guidelines.
