Job summary

ALTEN is seeking a Project Director to lead delivery and growth of a portfolio of complex, fixed‑price engineering projects, typically involving 80–120 engineers. You will own safety, quality, cost, schedule, scope, risk and margin, and lead Energy sector technical direction.

The role emphasises governance, accountability for mobilisations, and building resilient, scalable capability across the Energy portfolio in the UK. Hybrid working with significant leadership responsibility is offered.

Qualifications

• Engineering, science or comparable technical degree.
• Senior leadership of complex engineering programmes in a regulated environment; energy experience preferred.
• Proven accountability for fixed-price delivery, commercial performance, risk, change, quality and recovery.
• 10-15 years leading multidisciplinary organisations at scale and developing senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Own mobilisation, baselining, delivery, change, recovery and closure across the portfolio.
• Approve plans, estimates, resource profiles and delivery strategies.
• Chair delivery reviews and ensure compliance with ALTEN, customer and regulatory requirements.
• Lead governance forums and drive performance improvements.
• Develop energy technical strategy and growth roadmap.
