Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Energy Division, focusing on building services and energy projects, including HV infrastructure and district heating. Project values range from £50,000 to £20 million, with strong opportunities for professional development.

You will manage contracts, valuations, variations, and final accounts, ensuring timely payments, accurate reporting, and effective cost control across projects in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Ensure contractual obligations are flowed down appropriately in line with scope, price and programme
• Value and interpret contractor applications and quotes
• Submit detailed Applications for Payment in a timely manner
• Identify and detail variations with supporting documentation
• Prepare final accounts and negotiate settlements
• Report on forecast outturn and costs
• Process Subcontract Orders, notifications and payments
• Monitor delays and report to Project Manager/Commercial Director

About The Role:

Our Energy Division provides innovative energy generation, distribution and renewable solutions that reduce clients’ energy consumption, costs and carbon emissions. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team. Candidates should have experience in building services or energy projects, including HV infrastructure, district heating, Solar PV or BESS. Project values range from £50,000 to £20 million, with excellent opportunities for professional development and career progression.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure contractual obligations are flowed down appropriately and in the correct manor, in line with scope, price and programme.
• Capable of valuing and interpreting contractor applications and quotes.
• Proven ability tosubmitdetailed Applications for Paymentin a timely manner
• Identifying,reviewingand detailing variations, the preparation and submission of detailed prices including supporting documentation for agreement
• Understanding oftimelynotifications
• Preparation of all necessary supporting documentation in support of Final Account submission including negotiating the settlement of the Final Account
• Analysing actual costs and future expenditure to ensure accurate reporting
• Pursuing Notices or Certificates for Payment, and the resultant payments that become due
• Reporting by exception of any matter or event that is likely to impact the forecast outturn of a project
• Processing,draftingand issuingSubcontract Orders to meetcontractrequirements, valuing the work undertaken by Subcontractors,issuing theappropriate Noticesand processing payments as necessary
• Be aware of the agreed programme and be able toidentifydelays to the progress of the works and report this to Project Manager/Commercial Director for review

• Capable of working in a team environment supporting colleagues and providing advice on all commercial matters when necessary
• UnderstandingClientrequirements and always conducting business in a professional manner
• Good communicationskills, both oral and written.
• Good listening skills and capable of interpreting directions.
