Google’s expanding computing services and the rapid emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) demand unprecedented, around-the-clock performance from our global fleet of data centers. Meeting this demand responsibly is a defining challenge and opportunity of our time. To support this growth, the Energy and Location Strategy (ELS) team strategically sites data centers globally, securing the critical resources, community partnerships, and infrastructure required for optimal expansion.

The Energy and Power (E and P) team delivers the affordable, reliable, and sustainable power infrastructure needed to run these sites. E and P focuses on three core objectives like securing high-reliability power across global markets, managing long-term portfolio costs and risks, and driving Google’s clean energy progress. By providing innovative technical solutions, partnering with industry leaders, and breaking down policy barriers, the E and P team meets Google's immediate energy needs while actively accelerating the broader global transition to a smarter, carbon-free electricity grid for everyone.
