Location: National – with offices in the South West, Birmingham, or London (Hybrid working available, with flexibility regarding office location).

This is your opportunity to lead the energy sector group at a national law firm with serious ambitions in the space as an Energy Partner. You won’t just advise on energy projects - you’ll define how the entire practice approaches them.

The firm is seeking a commercial, visionary leader who can span all relevant legal disciplines -corporate, real estate, projects, disputes, and regulatory, and unite them under a single energy-focused strategy. It’s a role for someone who combines deep sector insight with a commercially valuable network - the kind of client following that opens doors when the opportunity arises.

This is your chance to architect a cross-practice energy offering and position the firm as a go-to advisor in a dynamic and high-growth sector.

What you’ll do:

• Lead a multidisciplinary energy group with input from every legal practice
• Build and execute a strategy for long-term growth in energy markets
• Leverage your client network to open new instructions and shape future workstreams
• Advise on complex, high-value mandates across the full energy lifecycle — from renewables to infrastructure
• Raise the firm’s energy profile through thought leadership and sector presence

What we’re looking for:

• 10+ years’ PQE with deep expertise in energy across multiple disciplines
• A commercially valuable client following — a network that can be converted into instructions
• Experience leading sector groups or practice-wide initiatives
• Strong leadership skills and a proven ability to build and inspire teams
• Market presence through public speaking, client work, or media
• Equity potential and bonus up to 50% of base salary
• Clear pathway to senior leadership within a respected national firm
