Energy Optimisation Specialist

Location: London or Edinburgh
Working Arrangements: Hybrid (2 days in the office) | 35 hours per week

Are you passionate about shaping the future of the energy sector through innovative modelling and optimisation? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Energy Optimisation Specialist to join a dynamic and fast-growing consultancy team in London.

In this role, you will develop advanced enhancements for optimisation models and contribute to building a new suite of web-based optimisation frameworks. You will explore innovative ways to leverage existing capabilities and work closely with clients to support the energy transition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and improve optimisation models, focusing on mixed integer linear programming.
• Design and deliver new energy optimisation platforms.
• Collaborate with technical and consulting teams to solve client challenges.
• Stay updated on power market dynamics to ensure models reflect current market developments.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Degree in a numerical or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong knowledge of mixed integer linear programming.
• Proficiency in Python (experience with C# is advantageous).
• Understanding of power markets, preferably with European market experience.
• Ability to handle large datasets and communicate technical findings effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Enthusiasm for learning and working collaboratively.
