Energy Optimisation Specialist

Location: London or Edinburgh
Working Arrangements: Hybrid (2 days in the office) | 35 hours per week

Are you passionate about shaping the future of the energy sector through innovative modelling and optimisation? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Energy Optimisation Specialist to join a dynamic and fast-growing consultancy team in London.

In this role, you will develop cutting-edge enhancements for optimisation models and contribute to building a new suite of web-based optimisation frameworks. You will explore new ways to leverage existing capabilities and work closely with clients to help shape projects that support the energy transition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance optimisation models, with a focus on mixed integer linear programming.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of new energy optimisation platforms.
  • Work collaboratively within a technical and consulting team to address client challenges.
  • Keep up to date with evolving power market dynamics, ensuring models reflect market developments.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Degree in a numerical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong working knowledge of mixed integer linear programming.
  • Proficient in Python (experience with C# is a bonus).
  • Solid understanding of power markets, ideally with European market experience.
  • Ability to work with large datasets and translate technical findings for diverse audiences.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic about learning and contributing to a collaborative environment.
