Job summary

Industrial Engineering Supplies Ltd in Nottingham is seeking a Building Physics Consultant to deliver energy modelling using IES VE across various projects, improving energy efficiency and comfort in design teams. The role involves dynamic thermal modelling, energy and carbon assessments, and clear reporting to clients.

You will collaborate with architects, MEP engineers and sustainability consultants to drive low-carbon design.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Physics or related field.
• Experience with IES VE for energy modelling.
• Experience in energy consultancy environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed building energy models using IES VE.
• Carry out dynamic thermal modelling and building energy simulations.
• Undertake energy and carbon assessments for new-build and refurbishment projects.
• Assess building fabric, glazing, shading, ventilation and building services performance.
• Provide advice on passive design strategies and opportunities to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.
• Undertake overheating assessments and thermal comfort analysis.
• Support compliance assessments and energy performance calculations where required.
• Analyse modelling results and communicate findings clearly to clients and project teams.
• Produce technical reports, calculations and presentations.
• Work collaboratively with architects, MEP engineers, sustainability consultants and other project stakeholders.
• Attend design meetings and contribute building physics expertise throughout the design process.
• Keep up to date with relevant building regulations, standards, industry guidance and emerging sustainability requirements.
• Support the development of energy-efficient and low-carbon design strategies.
