Job summary

Drax is seeking a Quantitative Analyst to join the Forecasting & Hedging Team in a permanent role with locations in Ipswich and London. The role focuses on building forecasting models for energy portfolios and delivering insights to support commercial decisions.

You will apply statistical and machine learning techniques, develop automated reporting and visualisations, and collaborate across Finance, Commercial and Renewables to drive business value.

Qualifications

• Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Experience with Python and SQL in a commercial setting.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance forecasting models across import/export portfolios.
• Research and implement statistical, ML and optimisation techniques to improve forecast accuracy.
• Lead peer reviews of code, models and methodologies to ensure high quality.
