Job summary

The Energy Ombudsman in the UK is seeking a Dispute Resolution Executive to join our Energy Ombudsman Business Unit in Daresbury on a permanent, full-time basis. The role offers hybrid working and a market-leading salary from £30,000.

You will investigate complex disputes, gather evidence from consumers and suppliers, and provide clear, impartial decisions that protect customers while supporting energy providers.

Responsibilities

• Investigate energy-related complaints by gathering and reviewing evidence from consumers and energy suppliers.
• Make independent, well-reasoned decisions in line with Energy Ombudsman frameworks.
• Take ownership of cases from start to finish, managing multiple investigations at different stages.
• Assess conflicting information and apply sound judgement to reach fair outcomes.
• Produce clear, structured decision outcomes, explaining conclusions to all parties.
• Serve as a trusted point of contact for consumers throughout the investigation.
• Engage empathetically with distressed or vulnerable customers and ensure high-quality service.
• Contribute to a high-performing dispute resolution team and improve decision quality.
