Job summary

MDE UK is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive the energy efficiency and decarbonisation agenda across public and private sectors. The role focuses on identifying, developing and converting large-scale project opportunities within solar PV, LED, and broader energy solutions.

You will work with Commercial Sales, Technical and Bid teams to expand the pipeline, engage senior stakeholders, and shape proposals that deliver measurable energy savings and cost reductions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in B2B business development, sales or commercial roles.
• Experience selling projects, solutions or services rather than single products.
• Strong communication, networking and relationship-building skills.
• Structured approach to pipeline management and CRM activity.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities across public and private sectors.
• Research target organisations and markets for energy-efficiency and decarbonisation projects.
• Build senior stakeholder relationships across estates, sustainability, procurement and finance.
• Generate opportunities through outreach, events, referrals and market intelligence.
• Qualify opportunities based on client requirements, project scope, funding and timelines.
• Hand off qualified opportunities to Commercial Sales and Bid teams.
• Develop opportunities beyond technology sales into wider project propositions.
