ElectraLink is seeking an Energy Data Product Owner to be the main day-to-day support to the Product Manager for Data Products, overseeing a portfolio of energy data products, APIs and SaaS solutions. The role is hands-on, involving BAU work, customer queries and backlog refinement.

The position suits someone with a strong analytical or data background, who communicates well and wants to learn the depth of the GB energy market data landscape.

Qualifications

• Experience working with GB energy market data flows within a supplier, industry service provider, consultancy or supporting technology platform, with a strong understanding of associated industry processes.
• Confident working with data: exploring and analysing datasets (for example in Excel), spotting patterns, and turning findings into clear insights.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn customer needs into clear product requirements.
• Excellent communication skills: able to explain data and technical topics clearly to customers and colleagues, and to build good working relationships across teams.
• Experience in the GB energy sector, for example with an energy supplier, industry service provider, consultancy or supporting platform.
• A degree in a quantitative subject (such as maths, data science, computer science, physics, economics or engineering), or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of SQL, Python, or experience of using AI tools to support data analysis.
• Experience working with APIs and tools such as Swagger or Postman.
• Experience supporting SaaS or data products.

Responsibilities

• Look after the day-to-day running of the Data Products portfolio, including service health, BAU changes, releases and customer communications.
• Act as first line support for API and data customers: respond to queries, triage issues, and pass technical issues to the Technical Product Analyst and development teams, if required.
• Maintain and prioritise the product backlog with the PM Data Products and write clear requirements for the delivery teams.
• Work with GB energy data to understand how different data flows can improve existing products or create new customer value.
• Lead early stage product discovery by exploring the data, mocking up sample outputs and testing them with customers, then work in partnership with the data development team to shape and build them.
• Support customers through the MHHS transition, helping with communications, onboarding and readiness.
• Monitor product performance, usage and adoption against agreed KPIs, and suggest improvements.
• Gather customer feedback and market insight to help shape the product roadmap.
• Support product launches, customer onboarding and go-to-market activities.
