This job role provides the successful candidate with an opportunity to join one of the most established Energy Fac RI teams in London, partnering with some of the largest Insurance carriers globally on some of the largest Downstream Energy reinsurance placements in the London market.

JOB ROLE

  • Key member of the Downstream Fac RI team within Howden Re
  • Works with all team members (including Upstream Colleagues) to plan and execute appropriate broking solutions for our client’s facultative reinsurance requirements
  • Engage with reinsurance markets to negotiate terms, pricing, and coverage to secure optimal outcomes for our global clients by utilising markets across the world (London, the US, Bermuda and around the world).
  • Ability to develop, build and maintain business relationships with Howden clients
  • Works with other members of the Team/Business Unit as required to assist with the development of new business opportunities both on third party business as well as Howden Network business
  • Works within agreed parameters and uses relevant systems to ensure documentation /communications adhere to company procedure / compliance requirements and provide an adequate audit trail
  • Shares their technical knowledge with more junior members of the Team mentoring junior members of staff to assist with technical development.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

  • An enthusiastic and high-reaching individual with around 5 years of Insurance/reinsurance experience who wants to join a London market leading broking team.
  • Advanced knowledge of the London and Overseas markets including an awareness of competitors, specific territory knowledge and cultural awareness.
  • Specific Product area knowledge and in depth understanding of wordings
  • The successful candidate should be able to illustrate good technical, organisational and communicative skills.
  • Successful candidate will need to work under pressure to secure quotations within tight time frames.
  • Proficient working use of Excel and Microsoft Word
  • An individual who is willing to learn and be part of a team working towards a common goal
  • Good understanding of Team objectives and how own role contributes to these
  • Strong understanding of company policies

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A levels
  • Tertiary (degree) level and/or relevant professional qualification ideally but not a pre-requisite
  • ACII qualified or some progress towards or they can demonstrate equivalent knowledge through experience/attainment of the LLMIT
