Job summary

Low Carbon Contracts Company seeks an Energy Analyst Intern in Leeds to contribute to UK Net Zero initiatives. This 6-12 month fixed-term internship involves planning, developing and operating scheme forecasting models, collaborating with modelling, data engineering and project teams to deliver data-driven insights.

The role requires a strong foundation in energy market fundamentals, a high level of analytical ability, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• A 2:1 degree in a highly numerate subject is essential.
• Proficiency in programming languages for data analysis such as Python or R.
• Strong analytical thinking and clear written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform operational forecasting and maintain model inputs.
• Investigate and report variances between forecast and out-turns.
• Improve forecasting tools and processes based on findings and policy changes.
• Provide general modelling and analysis as required.
• Review and collate industry data sources and policy developments.
• Assist with reporting and interpreting KPIs and other metrics.
