Job summary

Low Carbon Contracts Company invites energetic Energy Analyst Interns to join the Analytics team in Leeds. The role focuses on planning, development and operation of forecasting models, providing data insights to support UK Net Zero programmes and government policy.

This is a 6–12 month fixed-term contract for students pursuing undergraduate or master's degrees. The internship offers 37.5 hours per week, hybrid working with 2 days in the office, and a range of benefits.

Qualifications

• A 2:1 degree (or expected for those in their penultimate year) or higher degree in a highly numerate subject is essential.
• Proficiency in programming languages for data analysis such as Python or R.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform operational forecasting, including maintaining the model inputs
• Investigate and report on variances between forecast and out-turns
• Ensure continuous improvements of the forecasting tools and processes, based on troubleshooting and policy changes
• Provide general modelling and analysis as required
• Review and collate industry data sources and policy development news
• Assist with reporting and interpreting KPIs and other performance metrics
