Job summary

Elm Wood Primary in Middleton, Manchester, is seeking a caring and proactive Caretaker to join our site team on a permanent, part-time basis (29.5 hours/week). The successful candidate will be a key holder, help with deliveries, set up rooms, and assist in keeping the school clean and in good repair.

Applicants should be physically fit, reliable, and able to communicate with the whole school community. Experience in caretaking and computer use for training and email is desirable; flexibility

• Have a proven track record of caretaking.
• Be able to use a computer for training and email communication.
• Are willing to undertake a variety of tasks around school.
• Are a team player, who is proactive and able to work on their own as required.
• Are physically fit to be able to undertake manual work.
• Are able to communicate with the whole school community.
• Are able to be flexible with some hours to meet the needs of the school.

Responsibilities

• Lock up the building as a key holder and manage security.
• Distribute deliveries and organise items as needed.
• Set up rooms for activities and assist in keeping the school clean and in good repair.
• Work as part of the site team under the Site Manager.
