Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Endoscopy Staff Nurse to join our expanding Endoscopy Unit. You will deliver high-quality patient care before, during, and after endoscopic procedures, working within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

This permanent and fixed-term post offers opportunities for development in a busy, clinical environment with teaching and governance commitments, a focus on patient experience, and flexible working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Qualified Nurse (Degree/Diploma) and registered with NMC.
• Experience in acute health service preferable.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team.
• Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care.
• Evidence of teaching and supporting learners in practice.
• Awareness of infection control responsibilities.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care for endoscopy patients.
• Assess, monitor, and support patients before, during, and after procedures.
• Assist endoscopist and MDT during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Maintain patient safety, infection prevention and governance.
• Participate in teaching, supervision and support of colleagues.
• Support development of Endoscopy Service and patient experience.
