Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust is seeking a Band 5 Endoscopy Nurse for University Hospital Lewisham. The post involves holistic care from pre-assessment through discharge for endoscopic procedures such as gastroscopy and colonoscopy, with a supportive, development-focused team.

The role includes assisting endoscopists, monitoring patients, administering sedation per policy, and maintaining infection control standards, COSHH, and adherence to JAG guidelines.

Formación

• Evidence-based clinical nursing knowledge for endoscopy procedures.
• Ability to support endoscopists and manage endoscopic equipment.

Responsabilidades

• Assessing, planning, and delivering patient care before, during, and after endoscopic procedures.
• Assisting endoscopists in procedure rooms and managing endoscopic equipment.
• Monitoring vital signs and administering sedation per policy.
• Recovery and discharge planning for endoscopy patients.
• Ensuring infection control and COSHH compliance; documenting care per standards.
• Mentoring junior staff and participating in on-call rotas.
• Communicating with the MDT to ensure a positive patient experience.
