Job summary

Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Endocrinology Clinical Nurse Specialist to provide expert endocrine care and patient-focused support within the specialist nursing service. You will work autonomously and collaborate with endocrinology teams to deliver high quality care to patients and families.

Key responsibilities include running nurse-led clinics, conducting dynamic function tests, delivering training for staff and patients, and contributing to endocrine research

Responsibilities

• Provide an evidence-based specialist Endocrinology and Metabolism nursing service, to a cohort of patients referred to the endocrinology team, delivered through face-to-face clinics, by telephone or electronic communication.
• Ensure prompt and efficient handling of patient referrals.
• Demonstrate holistic assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for the endocrinology patient cohort with high autonomy.
• Prioritise workload to meet patient and service needs.
• Undertake clinical training and supervision to achieve competencies in endocrine nursing roles.
• Provide counselling to patients and families within your scope of expertise.
