Job description

Senior End User Support Engineer

Our Core Infrastructure team is a diverse group of technologists focused on improving the resiliency, scalability, visibility, usability, and supportability of Maven's technology systems.

The End User Support team manages the user experience at Maven, overseeing technology and facilities to enhance productivity. This includes responsibility for the office and desktop environment, video conferencing systems, telephony, and more.

The End User Support Engineer ensures Maven's employees have the necessary tools to be successful and productive. You will lead in configuring desks, relocating employees, setting up new desktops, and maximizing the use of Maven's technology tools. As the first line of support for IT issues, you will coordinate with the Core Infrastructure and development teams to resolve user requests and maintain productivity. This role offers growth opportunities into leadership positions in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage installation and configuration of desktop computing solutions
  2. Oversee application management, including configuration and version control
  3. Provide escalation-level support for Windows and Linux desktop environments
  4. Coordinate technology setups for new hires and role changes
  5. Maintain AV and video conferencing technology across the office
  6. Update procedural documentation, such as Linux deployment and user onboarding guides
  7. Keep inventory of office IT equipment current
  8. Configure telephones, printers, and other office technology
  9. Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers as needed
  10. Mentor team members
What we're looking for
  • Experience supporting Windows and Linux desktop environments
  • Familiarity with Linux in an Active Directory integrated environment
  • Knowledge of deployment platforms like PDQ, SCCM, MDT
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Basic networking knowledge: DHCP, DNS, cabling standards, etc.
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Strong customer support skills
  • Experience with virtual desktops (VMware Horizon preferred) is a plus
