Job summary

Connecting Education is seeking a hands-on software engineer to own critical fixes in a MERN stack application used by schools. You will diagnose, debug, and ship live fixes directly in React/TypeScript, Node.js and MongoDB, without relying on escalation.

You’ll also mentor a Support Engineer and act as the main technical face to customers during incidents, delivering fast, clear RCA and root-cause follow-ups as part of a high-performance team in a fast-growing EdTech scale-up with an office in

Qualifications

• Hands-on developer able to open a codebase and ship fixes independently.
• Strong frontend experience, particularly in React and TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of Node.js and MongoDB.
• Background in either software engineering or technical support.
• Highly analytical with debugging and live environment investigation.
• Experience mentoring others and communicating with customers.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, debug, and fix live issues directly in React/TypeScript, MongoDB, and Node.js.
• Own bugs end-to-end: identify root cause, ship fixes, and prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with Engineering to resolve issues in live environments without formal QA.
• Escalation point for high-impact incidents with clear RCA documentation.
• Manage and mentor one Support Engineer on a day-to-day basis.
• Define and own SLAs across customer tiers with proactive communications.
• Champion AI tools and automation to speed up the support function.
• Use data from live issues to inform product improvements.
• Help build processes and the team to scale from 260 to 1,000 customers.
