Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental management.
  • Experience within the Water Sector is advantageous.
  • Experience managing a team and incident investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in environmental consenting and permitting.
  • Support project teams in governance processes.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation.

Job description

We're the @one Alliance - a ground-breaking collaboration between Anglian Water and seven industry-leading partners: Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska and SWECO. Together, we deliver over half of Anglian Water's capital investment programme.

As we enter AMP8, our most ambitious period yet, we'll be delivering an even broader range of innovative and environmentally-driven infrastructure projects - from urban drainage to nature-based solutions like constructed wetlands.

What will you be doing as our new Enabling, Environmental and Sustainability Manager?

We're passionate about keeping our people safe, happy, and thriving, which is why we're strengthening our SHEA (Safety, Health, Environment and Assurance) team with a dedicated Enabling, Environment and Sustainability Manager.

You'll be part of a collaborative team delivering impactful projects that improve lives and protect the environment. You'll work alongside industry leaders in a culture that truly prioritises wellbeing, safety, and personal growth.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide end-to-end leadership across all aspects of environmental consenting, permitting and auditing in project delivery, driving consistency and clarity in approach
  • Review and approve all @one Alliance Enabling Risk Assessments with outstanding risks, ensuring that any outstanding risks are fully understood and mitigated. Support the Senior Enabling Lead in implementing consistent standards of assessment and risk categorisation
  • Support project teams, Senior Enabling Leads and Enabling Co-ordinators where necessary in relevant governance processes. Effectively manage the escalation of business-critical issues through the appropriate escalation procedure
  • Ensure that the AMS (Alliance Management System) is regularly reviewed and updated in line with changes to legislation, lessons learnt and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with current environmental legislation and promote best practices relevant to @one Alliance
  • Ensure compliance with the AMS through a program of regular inspections, audits, quality assurance reviews and reporting

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental management within the construction industry
