Job summary

Adler and Allan is seeking a motivated Utilities Surveyor/Drainage Enabler to join our Civils team in the UK. The role requires strong drainage system knowledge, problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused approach.

You will work with CCTV survey equipment, locate utilities, and read drainage drawings, with training provided in GPR technology. The ideal candidate has a Full UK Driving Licence, a CSCS Card, and experience in surface and foul water drainage.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence required.
• Experience and knowledge of surface water and foul water drainage systems.
• Previous utility surveying experience preferred.
• CSCS card required.
• Experience with CCTV surveying, jetting, robotic cutting, and trenchless rehabilitation techniques advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver drainage solutions with a customer-focused approach.
• Work independently, assess scope, and identify practical solutions.
• Carry out CCTV drainage surveys and use SoloPro push rod systems and crawler cameras.
• Detect and locate utilities, marking underground services in highways/construction sites.
• Read and interpret drainage drawings and site layouts; participate in site visits and communicate findings clearly.

We have been providing specialist wastewater services, civil engineering, reactive maintenance, trenchless repairs, reinstatement, CCTV surveys, tankering and jetting, and emergency response to commercial, industrial, and domestic clients for over 35 years.

Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and skilled Utilities Surveyor /Drainage Enabler to join our Civils team. This is a varied role requiring a strong understanding of drainage systems, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a customer-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities and Skills:

• Sound knowledge of both surface water and foul water drainage systems.
• Ability to work independently, assess a scope of work, and identify the most effective and practical solutions.
• Competent in the use of CCTV drainage survey equipment, including SoloPro push rod systems and crawler camera units.
• Experienced in utility detection and location, including CAT scanning and accurate marking of underground services within highways and construction environments.
• Tracing and locating drainage assets using sondes and pipe-locating equipment.
• Read and interpret drainage drawings, utility plans, and site layouts.
• Keen to develop new skills, with training provided in the use of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) technology and advanced locating equipment.
• Dealing directly with customers, conducting site visits, and clearly explaining drainage issues and any remedial work that may be required.

This role would suit someone who is proactive, technically competent, and committed to delivering high-quality drainage solutions while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
