Job summary

Natural Resources Wales is seeking a role focused on advising, auditing and reporting to improve environmental performance across the organisation. The role operates within the Finance and Corporate Services Directorate, with autonomy and a flexible working pattern, including hybrid arrangements and travel for in-person audits.

Reporting to the Internal Audit and Environmental Management System Manager, you will support the EMS audit plan, maintain our ISO14001 certification, and develop

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Environmental Management systems and auditing EMS performance.
• Good, broad knowledge of NRW and its functions to improve environmental performance.
• Experience running environmental audits.
• Effective partnership development and negotiation skills.
• Ability to analyse and present environmental information and write concise audit reports with clear recommendations.
• Able to work with cross-functional teams.
• Welsh language level required: Essential Level A1.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist technical advice to reduce environmental impact.
• Support EMS audit plan.
• Maintain internal environment management system and ISO14001 certification.
• Report on environmental performance including WG net zero report.
• Develop cross-organisational relationships to minimize environmental impacts.
• Investigate environmental incidents and promote carbon footprint reduction.
• Undertake health and safety duties appropriate to the post.
• Support equality, diversity and personal development initiatives.
• Carry out other duties commensurate with the grade.
