Job summary

Us3 Ltd seeks an experienced Power System Network Model Engineer to support the development and maintenance of transmission network models within an Energy Management System (EMS) environment. You will work across network topology, electrical asset modelling, SCADA telemetry and transmission system applications to ensure accurate real-time representation for control room operations.

Ideal candidates will have proven experience in electricity transmission network modelling, knowledge of CIM

Qualifications

• Experience modelling electricity transmission networks within an EMS.
• Knowledge of substations, busbars, circuit breakers, transformers, transmission lines and generators.
• Understanding network topology and asset relationships.
• Experience mapping SCADA telemetry and live monitoring data.
• Familiarity with GE PowerOn or GE XA/21 or similar EMS.
• Knowledge of state estimation, power flow and contingency analysis.
• Experience in transmission operators or grid control environments.
• SC clearance or eligibility to obtain SC clearance.
• Knowledge of CIM standards IEC 61970/61968.
• Experience with SQL, XML and/or Python.
• Experience with network model migration and system upgrades.

• Support development and maintenance of transmission network models in EMS.
• Work across network topology, electrical asset modelling, SCADA telemetry and applications.
• Ensure real-time representation of the network for control room and operations.
• Collaborate with transmission operators and utilities.
