Job summary

Hft is a leading social care provider helping learning disabled adults live life their own way and stay connected. As a Support Worker, you’ll empower individuals to make choices, remain active, and live with confidence in their own homes and communities.

You’ll support daily living, attend health appointments, manage wellbeing, and promote safety while respecting each person’s decisions. A warm, inclusive team awaits you at Hft.

Qualifications

• Patience and respect for people’s choices.
• Strong communication to build trusting relationships.
• Willingness to learn and work towards a Health and Social Care qualification.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, waking and sleep-in shifts.
• Experience in social care is welcome but not essential; attitude and values matter most.

Responsibilities

• Enable people to make their own choices and live life in a way that feels right.
• Encourage participation in social, leisure, work and community activities.
• Promote health, safety and wellbeing while respecting people’s decisions.
• Support people to attend health appointments and manage medication confidently.
• Build independence step by step, helping people gain new skills and confidence.
• Stand alongside people to manage daily life including personal care when needed.
• Keep accurate records and follow safeguarding practices to ensure safety.
