Zusammenfassung

Waythrough is seeking a part-time Peer Mentor in Scarborough to support the Launch Pad: Community Works project for 16–24-year-olds. You will mentor, engage, and accompany young people through practical, community-based activities and projects.

You’ll help participants identify interests and goals, build life skills, and connect with education, training or employment opportunities, while working closely with local partners and employers.

Qualifikationen

• Experience building positive and trusting relationships with young people aged 16–24.
• Experience planning or supporting activities, projects or events.
• Experience working with professionals, organisations or community groups.
• Ability to motivate people who may lack confidence or be reluctant to engage.

Aufgaben

• Build positive, respectful relationships with young people aged 16–24.
• Provide consistent peer mentoring and encouragement to participants.
• Create a welcoming, inclusive environment within the Launch Pad Hub.
• Support young people to identify interests, strengths, aspirations and goals.
• Encourage participation at their own pace.
• Support participants to plan and deliver small-scale Community Works projects.
• Work with community organisations to identify opportunities.
• Ensure activities are planned, risk assessed and delivered safely.
• Support participants to develop practical, communication and teamwork skills.
• Organise Launch Talks, workshops and other activities.
• Encourage participation in accredited training and learning opportunities.
• Support participants to maintain their Launch Passport and record achievements.
• Promote progression into education, training, volunteering and employment.
• Access other Waythrough services and external agencies as appropriate.
• Develop relationships with referral partners, community organisations, employers and training providers.
