Job summary

Envision Education is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Welwyn Garden City. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm, with a September 2026 start date.

You will support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development, working closely with teachers to create a safe, engaging learning environment. The ideal candidate will have UK classroom experience, strong communication skills, and a proactive, reliable attitude.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months UK experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare, tutoring, sports coaching, youth work, or similar setting.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A proactive, enthusiastic, and reliable approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils individually, in small groups, and within the classroom.
• Assist the class teacher with delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Encourage pupils' confidence, independence, and positive behaviour.
• Support children with a range of learning abilities and additional needs where required.
• Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
• Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
• Follow safeguarding, behaviour, and school policies at all times.
