Job summary

5 Star Recruitment are assisting a local council in Cardiff to recruit a Grade 7 social worker. The role involves reviewing legal, policy and procedural frameworks, assessing needs and risks, and supporting individuals to increase independence.

You will work within current legislation and council policy to assess, commission and review services for a specific client group. Based in Wales, you will participate in duty rotas, document outcomes, and use corporate systems.

Qualifications

• Review and update knowledge of legal, policy and procedures in social work.
• Help individuals make informed decisions and contribute to service planning.
• Assist users to enhance independence and coping skills.
• Assess needs, risks and options including child protection and safeguarding.
• Record unmet or inappropriately met needs per policy.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and review circumstances of individuals and families.
• Work actively with individuals to identify and meet support needs.
• Prepare for and participate in decision-making forums.
• Manage workload with professional judgement.
• Record and share client data in line with policy.
• Participate in supervision, appraisal and team meetings.
• Work within service budget to identify packages of care.
