Job summary

Protocol Education in Wolverhampton is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with a range of special educational needs in a Good-rated SEND school.

You will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement EHCPs, build confidence, and help students progress academically and personally in an inclusive environment. This is a rewarding role with ongoing support and development.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs, or a genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs.
  • An understanding of EHCPs or a willingness to learn how to implement personalised learning strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, resilience, and a positive attitude.
  • The ability to adapt to different situations and respond to students' individual needs.
  • A proactive approach and a commitment to helping every child succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Support students with a range of additional learning needs both in and out of the classroom.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that help students develop confidence and independence.
  • Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to deliver tailored support.
  • Follow Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage student engagement, wellbeing, and academic progress in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
