Job summary

Broadwindsor School is seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs, helping them develop confidence, independence and resilience. The role is term-time only, 31.75 hours per week, 38 weeks per year, with a fixed term until 31 August 2027.

You will work with individual pupils and small groups, alongside the SEND team, to deliver personalised programmes, monitor progress and liaise with families to support pupil wellbeing and attainment.

Qualifications

• Experience with children who have special educational needs.
• Understanding or experience with trauma-informed approaches.
• Experience supporting children with personal care needs including toileting.
• Demonstrates empathy, patience and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
• Work with teachers and SEND team to deliver personalised learning programmes.
• Promote pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
• Support literacy, numeracy and communication activities.
• Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
• Contribute to monitoring pupils' progress and wellbeing.
