Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a confident Cover Supervisor to work in a welcoming secondary school in the St Neots area. You will supervise classes, deliver pre-planned lessons, and maintain student engagement in the absence of teaching staff.

Qualifications

• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils or young people.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage a classroom confidently.
• Reliable, flexible, and able to build positive relationships with students.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 during teacher absences.
• Deliver pre-planned lessons and keep students on task.
• Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
• Ensure students understand the work set and complete activities.
• Adapt approach to support varied abilities and learning needs.
• Follow school policies including safeguarding.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on student engagement and progress.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
