Job summary

Just Teachers Ltd in Harrogate is seeking a dedicated Secondary Learning Support Assistant to join a local school on a full-time basis from September. You will support students across KS3 and KS4, helping them access the curriculum and build confidence with a patient, proactive approach.

The role involves working with individuals and small groups, supporting learners with diverse needs, and collaborating with teachers to implement targeted interventions.

Qualifications

• Experience working with secondary-aged students or young people in a school, care, youth work or support setting.
• Patient, proactive and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
• A good understanding of inclusive practice and supporting students with additional needs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-class support to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
• Work with individual students and small groups to help them access the curriculum.
• Support students with additional learning, behavioural, social, or emotional needs.
• Promote engagement, independence, and inclusion within the classroom.
• Work closely with teachers and other staff to implement support strategies and targeted interventions.
