Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire. You will support the class teacher with daily lessons, help children develop confidence, and contribute to a calm, inclusive learning environment.

The role is a permanent, full-time position with a salary of £23,000–£26,000 depending on experience. An Enhanced DBS certificate is required or willingness to undergo the checks; you must have the right to work

Qualifications

• Previous Teaching Assistant experience in a school or primary setting.
• Passion for supporting children's education and development.
• Patient, approachable and encouraging personality.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Right to work in the UK and DBS check (Enhanced) or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with daily lessons and learning objectives.
• Provide additional support to individual pupils and small groups.
• Encourage positive behaviour, active participation and a love of learning.
• Help prepare classroom resources and engaging learning materials.
• Observe pupils' progress and share feedback with teaching staff.
• Uphold safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
• Support pupils to access the curriculum.
• Contribute to a calm, inclusive classroom environment.
