Job summary

UKCIL Ltd. is seeking a patient Personal Assistant to support a friendly young gentleman in Stockton-on-Tees. You will help him access community activities, develop life skills and build independence through 1:1 support, with activities in the evenings and weekends.

The role focuses on reassuring guidance, gentle prompts for daily living tasks, and fostering safety awareness, wellbeing, and positive social skills while respecting the young person’s pace and boundaries.

Qualifications

• Patience, caring attitude and reliability are essential for daily support.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the young person and carers.
• A person-centred approach that respects preferences and boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support in the community and accompany the young person to activities.
• Encourage participation in social and leisure activities while promoting independence.
• Help develop life skills such as using public transport, handling money, decision making and self-regulation.
