Job summary

Academics in Havering is seeking a caring SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school. You will support children with diverse SEND needs across the school, helping them access learning and build confidence.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, ideally in a primary school or SEND setting.
• Patient, approachable and adaptable with a passion for supporting young learners.
• Confident building positive relationships with children of different ages and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support children with a variety of SEND across the school.
• Provide additional assistance within the classroom and during learning activities.
• Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and stay engaged during the day.
• Support children's social development, communication and emotional wellbeing.
• Adapt approach to meet individual learning needs and additional needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and greater independence.
• Work alongside teachers and other support staff to ensure pupils receive the best possible support.
