Job summary

Sovereign & Bale is hiring a Job Coach/Tutor in Reading to support young people aged 16–24 with SEND in a Supported Internship programme. You will coach, mentor and guide interns in real work environments, helping them develop employability skills and secure paid roles.

The role involves close collaboration with host employers, families, and placement managers, delivering training, planning induction events, and ensuring safe, effective placements. A DBS check is expected.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Supported Employment qualification is required.
• Experience supporting individuals with SEND into employment is essential.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a person‑centred approach.
• Confidence with IT tools and managing caseloads.
• Awareness of safeguarding; Enhanced DBS check is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support interns on Supported Internships to progress in placements and secure employment.
• Provide tailored coaching and mentoring at work placements.
• Identify job placements and any assistive technology needs.
• Build relationships with parents/carers and placement managers.
• Deliver disability awareness training to employers and staff.
• Ensure a safe, welcoming learning environment and effective services.
