Job summary

Tandridge Family Centre in Surrey is recruiting a full-time Family Support Worker to deliver targeted and universal support for families with complex needs, engaging children and carers through a bespoke programme. The role includes home visits, school and community sessions, and risk assessments to support outcomes.

You will work within the Surrey Family Centres network to empower families, coordinate with partners, and maintain timely case notes while travelling across the borough to meet

Qualifications

• Experience of working directly with families with complex needs.
• Experience addressing family breakdown, domestic violence/abuse, and attachment issues.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse communities.
• Ability to challenge professionals to protect service users.
• Approachable, non-judgemental, friendly and resilient.
• Strong organisation and time-management abilities.
• Experience in multi-agency collaboration.
• Ability to contact agencies to support families and gather information.

Responsibilities

• Work with children and young people delivering evidence-based support.
• Facilitate group-work in-centre and at venues as needed.
• Support universal and targeted interventions for families.
• Work with the wider team to provide integrated services.
• Develop the Centre as a safe place for families to access help.
• Hold a caseload of 12–15 families and complete assessments.
• Work with families at home and in the community.
